The present owners of Bawdsey Manor, the Toettcher family, are pleased to welcome you to their family home which is open to the public under the Invitation to View scheme. www.invitationtoview.co.uk Our guided visits will give you an insight into the history of the estate and the people who have lived and worked here. You will have an opportunity to explore some of the key features of the House and Gardens, including the Pulhamite Cliff Walk. Enjoy breathtaking views of the coast and River Deben over a lunch or tea featuring seasonal and local Suffolk produce. In 2010 we are offering two tours: Tour A: House and Gardens, £15.00 per person This is a two-hour tour of the House and formal Gardens. Tours begin at 2pm and conclude with tea and cakes, or begin at 5pm and conclude with wine and canapes. Tour B: RADAR exhibition, House and Gardens, £22.50 per person (£27.50 Nov/Dec), including buffet lunch This tour begins with a visit to the Magic Ear RADAR exhibition in the Transmitter Block, followed by a buffet lunch. In the afternoon there is a tour of the House and Gardens. The visit starts at 11am and lasts about five hours. The Manor House was built by the Quilter family in several stages and they employed different architects, leading to an interesting variety of architectural styles.
